San Diego
Soy Dairy is located in the county of San Diego and was established
in 1980. The owner and founder Gary Stein first learned how to make
tofu in 1977 as an apprentice with a Japenese Family. The secrets
passed down to him on the art of making tofu are still being used
today. After several years Gary opened his first tofu shop in an old
gas station that was completely remodeled into a tofu shop. The first
investors received a pound of tofu a week as interest on their $100.00
investment.
After
6 years the tofu shop moved to a much larger location where it remains
today. With newer equipment the Soy Dairy has been able to keep up
with the demand for the highest quality tofu.
